terry

I use cardboard as painting palette. A week ago, I just cut out the interesting part of a palette and sent it to my good friend Terry...really just to see if a piece of cardboard could go through the mail. Well, the answer is yes...but there are apparently some additional charges for items that can't go through the USPS sorting machines, as evident by the label affixed to my returned cardboard. Now we know some of the rules...

for G. & F. Barbot

Front and back. I created this card for my very good friend and Mail Art Mentor, Gerard Barbot, and his Pop. They are going through some tough medical issues right now. Behind Roger Moore and the girls, is a sample of Gerard's postage stamp tribute to Wallace Berman... and on the address side, the background is a sample of Fernand's stamp page of his work.

Front and back. This is a card i created to send to Pony Express zine in Philly...there is no real theme to it...just stuff. I like the bigger sized card - roughly 4" x 9" - because it is more panoramic... although most mail art entries ask for the standard 4"X6". The flowers-with-skulls-inside imagery is from Mexico...and brought back to me by Brooke from her recent trip there...goes nicely with the Emperor stamp.
